I have a few quotes from the book called I Ching, or Book of Changes. It's an ancient Chinese divination text. Throughout the history, it was often used in wars, battles and tactics, but also in fine art, literature... Even Sun Tzu was heavily influenced by the I Ching when he wrote Art of War.
"Before the beginning of great brilliance, there must be chaos. Before a brilliant person begins something great, they must look foolish in the crowd."
"When the way comes to an end, then change. Having changed, you pass through."
"When flowing water...meets with obstacles on its path, a blockage in its journey, it pauses. It increases in volume and strength, filling up in front of the obstacle and eventually spilling past it...Do not turn and run, for there is nowhere worthwhile for you to go. Do not attempt to push ahead into the danger... emulate the example of the water: Pause and build up your strength until the obstacle no longer represents a blockage.â€
