I thought you said you enjoyed literature and music.
That i do.
And you have the shittiest taste in both by a far shot, even in internet standards which is no mean feat.
My point was that being entertained by a make-believe world ( popular entertainment) that everybody agrees is entertainment designed to be watched and forgotten about the next minute is not escapist or delusional. It becomes escapist when it's watched instead of working/ instead of showering/ instead of RL practices that further the survival of the entertainment consumer.
It becomes delusion when the consumer believes that s/he IS one of the characters that s/he is watching.
I raised 2 kids, remember? We played lots of dressup games between 1996 and 2008. Like duh.
Who cares what you think of my taste? My point was that if watching Wonder Woman makes me delusional, you have no right to call yourself sane if you use any form of fiction (including literature) to entertain yourself.
