I thought you said you enjoyed literature and music.

That i do. 

And you have the shittiest taste in both by a far shot, even in internet standards which is no mean feat. 

 

My point was that being entertained by a make-believe world ( popular entertainment) that everybody agrees is entertainment designed to be watched and forgotten about the next minute is not escapist or delusional. It becomes escapist when it's watched instead of working/ instead of showering/ instead of RL practices that further the survival of the entertainment consumer.

It becomes delusion when the consumer believes that s/he IS one of the characters that s/he is watching.

I raised 2 kids, remember? We played lots of dressup games between 1996 and 2008. Like duh.

 

Who cares what you think of my taste? My point was that if watching Wonder Woman makes me delusional, you have no right to call yourself sane if you use any form of fiction (including literature) to entertain yourself.

Elaborate escapist Wonder Woman fantasy? When did I ever say I actually believe that's what I am? 

 Couple of months ago, i think Tryp was in that chat. You said when reality is getting too harsh you escape into this "Wonder Woman" fantasy version of yourself to make it more bearable.   Been looking at that chat for a few minutes and this stuck out like a sore thumb, that's why i remembered.  

 

You remember wrong. You're going to have to post the chat and prove what you're saying. I'd wager that you're either misreading a joke, or trying to pass the word "pretending" off as "believing" or some other logical fallacy/ mistranslation/ lie that you're now infamous for.

You, on the other hand, are the poster child for a sucker of ideologies, in good SJW fashion. When it comes to anything concerning abstract, theoretical or remotely scientific, you cry "circlejerk", "nerd" and "navelgazing" like a rabid creationist.  

 

Again, prove it. Post a link. And prove your all- or-nothing assessment of whatever statement you're trying to tell our audience I made. Prove I do it with "anything" abstract, theoretical, etc. By that I mean I want you to post at least 10 links to places where I've dismissed scientific reasoning as a nerdy circlejerk.

It was not about  watching  Wonder Woman.   What you said in chat was that you're  imagining  being Wonder Woman as an ego-boosting measure whenever the reality of your life slaps you in the face too harshly.

 

I'm pretty sure that's not what I said. For one thing, a vast majority of what I do does not happen "whenever" some certain other thing happens. My mind is far more flexible than that.

Second, I wouldn't be that vague about "the reality" of my life. Especially if it's "slapping me harshly" (lolwut? No. Definitely not words I'd use to describe my life.)

See,  if you keep misusing the internet as your sole source of validation of your make-believe persona, it will just plop you deeper in the hole of delusions you're digging for yourself. The burden of proof is on you, as you seem to be bizarrely hung up on what the internet people think about you.  And the louder you protest,  the more you prove my observations about you.  

I think you should make a poll thread to sample how the internet people of this site perceive you, see how it will pan out.
