Don't all the transistors reset after powering down? If anything I'd worry about what gets written onto your hard drive. I don't know for sure; the most I've ever done to a motherboard was fix jumper pins, and that was back when Pentium 2 was cutting edge.

It would probably damage the CPU / motherboard, wouldn't it??

 

If you took it out so that some pins were connected while others weren't.. I can't imagine that doing any good.
