If Jew golds grew on trees

Then I could do whatever I pleased

I'd be as free as a fish in the sea

And all the monies would belong to me.

If I could be free

Then what would I be?

I would be a new me

Opportunity as far as I could pee.

If I could be a new me

Then what would I see?

I want to be free

but it could never be.

If I weren't here

then what would I have to fear?

Would I stay near?

Or to the less traveled road would I veer?

If I were to fear

The great and looming place out there

Then of what could I ever be aware

If all I heard was 'beware'?

So now I must heed

The words that they all speak

And now towards death I ever creep

All I do is eat and sleep

And never dare to weep

For if tears my face were to streak

Then I would be nothing but weak

So my rage I must keep.

If Jew golds grew on trees

Then I could do whatever I pleased

But in my tracks then I would freeze

And my fear I would have to appease.
