I've noticed that people are much more willing to compromise what they want in order to fit the needs and wants of others then me.
I usually try to tone down and mute my naturally strong willed nature just to the degree that it is socially acceptable. But this is a two edged blade where you do not want to reach the same need for social humbleness as normal people.
