Alignment Quiz

I present to you the old "Dungeons and Dragons" personality alignment quiz.

It can be taken here.

Yes, I know that there has been at least 1 thread about this in the past. The one I seen had four different quizzes to see what your personality alignment was. But the quiz I've linked is from the D&D developers' web site, so it's better than those atrocious OKCupid quizzes which crop up here occasionally.

Character type and description are the desired responses. This is what I got:

Neutral Evil

A neutral evil villain does whatever she can get away with. She is out for herself, pure and simple. She sheds no tears for those she kills, whether for profit, sport, or convenience. She has no love of order and holds no illusion that following laws, traditions, or codes would make her any better or more noble. On the other hand, she doesn’t have the restless nature or love of conflict that a chaotic evil villain has. The criminal who robs and murders to get what she wants is neutral evil. Some neutral evil villains hold up evil as an ideal, committing evil for its own sake. Most often, such villains are devoted to evil deities or secret societies. The common phrase for neutral evil is "true evil." Neutral evil is the most dangerous alignment because it represents pure evil without honor and without variation.

I think that sort of hits the nail on the head in describing me. I'm not that violent though, nor do I idealize "evil." Also, I'm not a "she."

"tricking guys into thinking girls are into D&D?"

I can't even imagine what sort of PR campaign they'd need to do to convince people of that. I don't think Lisa Franking the colors'll cut it.

For the sake of "being different," or for the sake of tricking guys into thinking girls are into D&D?

They enjoy employing "she" as the expected gender instead of the expected "he" for entries. It's also a thing with Pathfinder.

Oh this quiz. Looks like my alignment changed again:

Neutral

A neutral character does what seems to be a good idea. She doesn’t feel strongly one way or the other when it comes to good vs. evil or law vs. chaos. Most neutrality is a lack of conviction or bias rather than a commitment to neutrality. Such a character thinks of good as better than evil. After all, she would rather have good neighbors and rulers than evil ones. Still, she’s not personally committed to upholding good in any abstract or universal way. Some neutral characters, on the other hand, commit themselves philosophically to neutrality. They see good, evil, law, and chaos as prejudices and dangerous extremes. They advocate the middle way of neutrality as the best, most balanced road in the long run. The common phrase for neutral is "true neutral." Neutral is the best alignment you can be because it means you act naturally, without prejudice or compulsion.

Yeah, I thought another good reason not to bump an old topic is that people change over time, and so too do their results. True neutral is what I got when I played Baldur's Gate 2, years ago. Apparently alcohol, college, or Cleveland turned me into an evil person.

I have no idea what you are saying in your first paragraph. You mean it expects mostly women to be taking this test? I don't know what Pathfinder is except for a quick Google search, and I assume that perhaps it is another game that makes sexist conclusions as well.

I usually score somewhere between L/E and neutrality, but I hadn't landed true neutral with it.

"You mean it expects mostly women to be taking this test?"
No, but the assumed gender for typing on a subject is usually "he". They prefer "she" for the sake of "being different". They're aware that it's mostly male players.

Pathfinder's basically people who enjoyed D&D before 4.0 pulling one of these:

As well as tricking girls into thinking other girls play it. Devious bastards.

Oh I was meaning specifically for d20 games. Other than the Lord of the Rings types, girlfriends of players, tryhards that pride themselves in labeling themselves "different" over it, or the occasional anime fan, they tend to not bother. I've seen more of them try LARPing over dice rolling, and that's with me having no interest in LARPing to speak of.

Card games meanwhile are pretty easy to pick up, and the illustrations tend to draw them in. MMOs also seem to have some pull depending on how it's designed. Something about rolling dice and character sheets tends to not sell as well when it comes to feminine players from what I've seen, but I haven't really been able to pinpoint specifically why (even video games that use the same mechanics in the background have more pull).

I don't know... I don't think so. I've never hurt someone just because they were different.

Based on your answers to the quiz, your character’s most likely alignment is Chaotic Neutral

A chaotic neutral character follows his whims. He is an individualist
first and last. He values his own liberty but doesn’t strive to protect
others’ freedom. He avoids authority, resents restrictions, and
challenges traditions. The chaotic neutral character does not
intentionally disrupt organizations as part of a campaign of anarchy. To
do so, he would have to be motivated either by good (and a desire to
liberate others) or evil (and a desire to make those different from
himself suffer). The common phrase for chaotic neutral is "true
chaotic." Remember that the chaotic neutral character may be
unpredictable, but his behavior is not totally random. He is not as
likely to jump off a bridge as to cross it. Chaotic neutral is the best
alignment you can be because it represents true freedom both from
society’s restrictions and from a do-gooder’s zeal.
