Tattoos, Ink and Art

In my line of business I see some really strange Tattoo choices. From things like desk lamps, to noughts and crosses, one person even got a stylized depiction of a Tuna can stain on them.
For me, the history of Ink and Tattoos has always fascinated me, as do the reasons why some folk get them.
The percentage of younger folk say 18 to 25 getting inked has increased dramatically as societies stigma towards inked folk lessens, and the "Rite of Passage" mindset that used to be associated with it has all but disappeared.
I have a heap of work myself, some really shit and untidy, some in progress. A lot of it was done as I experimented with various inks and machines. I’m currently reworking much of it to get it looking how I want it. Most of them are depictive of water, flowing designs with some random sea type creatures thrown in here and there, with some Tribal type work and other unusual designs.
Although I regret none of them, in hindsight if I could go back in time, I would do them differently and take more care with what I chose to put on my skin, because some of them look messy and hard to define.

My questions to you all are:

1: If you have Ink, what is it, and why did you choose that particular design?
2: Do you feel that your ink portrays a particular aspect of your personality?
3: Are Tattoos frowned on in your country/town?
4: If money and time were no object, what would have tattooed on yourself and why?
5: If you don’t have Ink, is there a particular reason why not?

Feel free to put up your own Ink or designs.
It would be kind of interesting to see what kind of twisted and unusual ideas people can come up with.
Are there any artists out there?

1: If you have Ink, what is it, and why did you choose that particular design?

N/A

2: Do you feel that your ink portrays a particular aspect of your personality?

N/A- but to this question I answer, we have paper for that...not our bodies

3: Are Tattoos frowned on in your country/town?

In my country? No. In my town..maybe.

4: If money and time were no object, what would have tattooed on yourself and why?

Nothing. I find certain tattoos attractive, but I would not get anything tattooed on myself.

5: If you don’t have Ink, is there a particular reason why not?

I find tattoos to be quite trashy, but really only visible tattoos. I think if you have visible tattoos that could be covered up with daily clothing (that includes skirts, short sleeved shirts, shorts), you have to really wonder about that person. I'm so so about back of the shoulder tattoos (visible with a tank top), I think that's ok.

Wrist tattoos are the WORST...I would not hire someone that had wrist or forearm tattoos if I had any say in it.

If my children got visible tattoos under my roof I would probably kick them out. Ok maybe not but I would be PRETTY TICKED. Clearly they can afford to pay their own way.

I am very judgmental against tattoos..I do not understand them.

No, not generally. There's people who frown on tattoos in every country anyways

I want one of those typical flower tattoos on the side of my abdomen. (I am a female lol) I would post a pic but I'm sure you can just google it and see what I mean.

I was actually planning on getting what I described above. But.. I haven't had the time to sit down and come up with a design and I'm not sure how much I would like to spend on it. I can't get one anywhere that's visible due to where I work.

I currently have none and I'm a bit wary about getting anything done. Masochists and tattoos seem to have a relationship that makes it hard to resist returning for more.

2: Do you feel that your ink portrays a particular aspect of your personality?
If I had any tattoos I'd prefer they represent some sort of milestone in my life or important memory, but I have none I think that are worth that so far sooo hey.

3: Are Tattoos frowned on in your country/town?
They're enjoyed on a personal level but occupationally they tend to need to be covered up. Tattoos tend to pigeon hole possible occupations if they're somewhere overly obvious, much like how people who are over 50% metal tend to only work in places like Hot Topic.

4: If money and time were no object, what would have tattooed on yourself and why?
Same rough idea as my answer in #2.

5: If you don’t have Ink, is there a particular reason why not?
Same rough idea as my answer in #1. I have nothing against tattoos, but I don't want to risk becoming addicted to them. I'd likely be more of a fan of either white ink tattoos, black light tattoos, or scarification, and whatever design I get would need to conform to my shape instead of clash against it.

I also like the idea of keeping the body canvas more clean so that it more readily shows off marks and bruises, but proper accenting done through tattoos could still allow for that without getting in the way too much. If it's done wrong I'd see it somewhat like attacking an Etch a Sketch with a Sharpie.

So what is it about Geometric designs/tattoos that makes them "Non-Tacky"?

Yeah I would think there are underlying disorder and body issues with that level of addiction. Especially the ones who transform themselves permanently into creatures. Once they are on the face it seems the boundaries to complete coverage are removed, in many cases.

I don't have any and don't think that I want any, most of them look really tacky. If I did have one, maybe it would be something like this..

Pretty much. They are the remainder of a fun time, and the pain if they were deep enough can last for days and be enjoyed in the shower (I used to call bruises "happy buttons" when I was just starting out). They exist to be marveled at and appreciated for the time they last, watching the colors shift and the wounds mend. More importantly however, they fade and I'm a fairly fast healer, so whoever my partner at the time is gets to enjoy a fresh canvas. If I were covered in tattoos, their efforts wouldn't show up as much, which would feel like robbing both her and myself.

That does not mean I couldn't get tattoos that accent the form or don't take up much space, and I was thinking of maybe having a tattoo of each person I've played with's best scar, but tattoo addiction is scary shit:
