NO.
Alright, last topic I'm making about this sort of thing by trying a somewhat more direct title. So far I've seen two people (Eddy and AllIn0ne) seem to want me to have complete freedom with quality control over the place instead of trying to establish a more grounded set of guidelines agreed on by others.
If you agree with me removing whatever I want, reply about it.
If you disagree with me removing whatever I want and would prefer a different approach (like "target caps lock only" or "target specific types of topics"), reply about it.
If you don't care, err, replying'd still be nice?
With me just doing whatever that can be revoked as easily as discussing changing what I'm doing after the fact instead of beforehand, but is this what you'd all prefer? I remember the place being quite outspoken about "freedoms", but if you'd rather sell some of that away to make the place a little prettier then this is your chance. If no one replies, well, there's already two votes.
If you start removing threads (which I am all for) at least have clear guidelines for what is considered removeworthy/spam tier posting.
It is clear some people post obnoxious things and make annoying threads but the line between spam and plain stupid threads is not always clear to everyone. Guidelines also let you explain why something was removed rather then just it being 100% a personal judgement call.
No rules.
I don't feel like giving you freedom to do "whatever you want". Who knows what frightful horrors lurk underneath your overly analytical and laid back persona :D
Banning should only be for dexter and dexter like behavior, which I know you can recognize and hope most people here do.
Here's a list of topics that have already discussed the dexter issue
What to do about the current dex infestation
in which you understand that getting rid of dex is part of the mod's job as a separate chapter even from ordinary "spam":
2) "If I don't mute him, I get bitched at for not doing it."
a) It's your job. You were placed into the admin position because of him and your claims of being able to get rid of him, "exterminate" him.
Emire Luna declared victory over the dex hoards
I am sure there were a few other threads about the dexter problem. Ana posted the first one long time ago, which resulted in getting dex banned for the first time.
