It goes pretty far back into the past, ever since patch 1.27, when necessary security updates to maintain the stability of the forum were implemented.

Old and unused accounts had to be locked, because people were abusing scripts to create large numbers of accounts, with which to attempt to crash the site, and they also rabidly posted obscene anime pictures all over the forum.

Unfortunately in order to curb the tide of mal-intentioned scripters, a system was devised under which scarcely used accounts were deactivated. Unfortunately, some accounts legitimately used to participate the forum were caught in the cross-hairs, and yours may well have been one of them. I'm sorry.

...is the bullshit problem to log in with old accounts?

How far into past does this bullshit problem exist?

 Not  a huge matter of importance..other than my boredom and curiosity wrt to the stupidity of the current lack of a system ..
