I don't really have issues with audible food consumption, unless they're smacking their lips like wild baboons. My main irritation is people with their melodramatic sneezes. Sneezing does not even involve the vocal cords.
Oh my god, you honestly have no idea. So I eat dinner with my family every night, and my dad makes this sound where it's like he's grumbling while he eats, it's really weird. My mom, when we're not in polite company, does this thing when she spends a while chewing on something in a kind of unimpressed manner, and then she leans over her plate and spits a bit of her food out (nasty, right??). It's like dinner with Scylla and Charybdis. It's so annoying!!!
People find it annoying that I scarf down any food I have very fast, especially when they prepared it for me or they paid for it. I can't really help it and if I can its like a conscious restraint that I have to focus on that makes the whole experience less desirable. The point "Did you even taste it?" comes up a lot
I used to have the same problem, but then I spent a lot of time working on myself to appreciate flavor over sensation. Not being able to afford enough food often enough makes flavor become something to appreciate. I'll sometimes not eat until my appetite hits an optimum point for flavor for the sake of it now.
Try drinking something between bites.
I've no clue if all people or just disordered people are hypersensitive to the eating habits of others, but I've known by being in the presence of others disordered people, that the more narcy ones (myself included) have eating habit triggers big time.
For instance; I have a client who comes to get her hair done right after she's done eating, and for the first 15 minutes she will make these disgusting slurping noises trying to clear any food she may still have between her teeth. I cringe inside every time and it also makes me want to watch her drown in her own blood.
Annoying eating habits anyone?
Generally I do find it very annoying when people make sounds when they eat. Thankfully I was raised by people with etiquette (to some degree at least).
To me this fall under the same category (perhaps a bit worse) as people using their phones at the table.
This one occasion I could hardly fucking sit still I was to angry (and I am usually in control of my temper). The guy had his phone out when we were drinking coffee, fat guy even passively he made growing sounds, like it was hard for him to even breathe. So he takes out his phone and the idiot starts playing some video on it with full sound, full fucking sound we could hardly talk anymore. I just fucking left no way I am going to deal with that shit face on the account of some friend.
When people open chip bags or anything in that annoying crinkling plastic I want to make them swallow it. They always seem to take their time and screech it together as much as possible. People that smack with their mouth gaping open like a giraffe is also mildly unsettling to where I want to slap the food right out of their mouth. Silverware being scraped against plates consistently isn't pleasant so I could do without that as well.
