So, we have a thread about peoples' Avatars, so why did you choose the name of your account?
That sounds like it would be liberating. Unfortunatly, if we (as in the sociopaths here) were to use our real names, it wouldn't bode well for our jobs/education/relationships, but in the most part i connect to my real name as much as i do this name, as they are only labels through which people recognise me, so they arn't really all that different
I use my real name to talk as I normally do in real life. People can look me up or ask if they have any questions.
I tend to focus in depth with people not afraid to be real, which requires a direct honest connection. Using fake names interferes with that. I wish the whole world were "free of fear" where everyone talks openly and honestly. This place is pretty good for that (even with crazy puppet games that add a whole level of masking to get past).
So I start with myself. And see who is transparent. Or projects blame, runs and hides.
Or is amused and decides it's like a cool game of chicken. To out the person who claims to be fully open. Oh yeah?
Yes, I've been called a terrorist and even sadistic (half-jokingly) for talking to people online as myself, with my wild ideas.
Something so natural and straightforward, yet it scares the beejeezus out of people who've never tried it before.
I think it is liberating.
Yes, it's a lot of work to change the world around us, where this would not be a problem anymore. I'm on it.
By the time everyone comes out to this degree, we'd be too busy fixing our own stuffs to worry about anyone else.
There would not be enough stones to throw! We'd give up throwing them, and build bridges and roads instead.
Yes, you can still have both. In a totally free world, you can interact any way you wish and it still works fine. Idealistic, I know. But that is where I already live in my mind, and just enjoy finding other people on that level.
Tired of trying to get stuff done IRL while everyone cowers in corners, hiding behind walls. This place is the closest to completely free speech as I've found anywhere. If every website were like this, maybe we'd get there faster! Thanks
