It's likely that someone was running scripts. Because registration doesnt have CAPTCHA or email verification, it's not difficult to write a script which auto creates accounts.

Later on, we will need to impliment measures to stop this. I already can think of some solutions which should stop scripts while not inconveinancing yall with CAPTCHA or email verification.

Write a text with a special word hiden in it which would be obvious for a human being but less so for a bot you'd have to type the word in a box to be able to create an account. Simple and easy to implement as a place holder for capcha or something else. :) you could to that with any text, could use a part of the wiki description of sociopathy to fit with the site
