Nice stories. Merry Christmas.

LOL! I always put a lot of thought into my gifts for the people that matter...and I aim for practicality versus just buying something to buy it. Christmas isn't about consumerism - it's just what its been turned into. If the best of the holiday was just spending time together I think that is good.

I got a few things for Hanukkah - a very pretty necklace, new wallet...little things. But on Christmas (yesterday for me) - my partner took me to our new place we haven't moved into yet (he blind folded me the whole ride) - and surprised me with a painted and furnished nursery he did himself. It was the best Christmas gift I've ever gotten...and I had no idea it was coming lol. I was only a bit suspicious when he wouldn't let me buy a particular plushie...he threw a fit in the store. But otherwise, he did a very good job in every way, exactly how I had it in my mind. I think I'll keep him. :) 

Now I can work on finishing it.

Yeah it was great, except for all the drunk people. You know how it goes.

I had a very nice Christmas - the very best I've ever had. Definitely no offensive gifts.

I witnessed someone unwrap a toothbrush, two deodorant sticks, three pairs of individually wrapped socks, and a pair of gloves. The pair of gloves was the big present. Oh and razors.

OMG it has finally hit me. That person providing the gifts to thier husband is my mothers blood related child. They act, laugh, and are very similar in size, stature, everything. They can't see it.

However, now I know why my Christmas growing up were basically the same things.

Ha... I've showed them. Over the years I have hands down trumped every single gift they've given me to my memory. In terms of price and utility, and appreciation. That's how you crush people into a drinking habit, and alleviate yourself of any substance abuse issues.

Me... I'm down to a palsy 1 and 1/2 shot of vodka for the gatherings. Everyone else is way way up. Ha Ha... and yes, alcohol is a standard issue gift from me.

It's fucking crazy. Two of the key people who were basically the glues that held Christmas together in the past are dead, one by freak accident giving birth and the other by suicide.

Those people were so central to family gatherings in the past, that current family members go out of their way and travel to peoples houses who have no blood relation to those families at all. It is all they talk about. The deads ex-husbands and wives.

Totally fucked up. I was never big on family.
