Psychiatry / Psychology - what's your story?

I think psychology is the biggest load of shit I have had the unfortunate burden to know about. I am literally ashamed at my core about knowing so much about psychology, because I believe about 5% of it, if that. I do not with every fiber of my being understand the mass interest in psychology. Seriously. I don't get it

If I could orchestrate a public burning and eradication of all psychology books world wide I would do it in a heartbeat

It is quackery. That being said I have had psychologists. To me they are like paying someone to listen to me talk, except I have never paid a dime for one out of pocket. I am strongly against supporting the paycheques of them personally, but my insurance company can pay them.

Then there's psychiatrists. They're quacks too, and I am against medication for myself. But hey, I actually do believe in psychiatry, and the fact that medication is able to repair problems... but not as a distinction from neurology. I would be in support of the merging of the two and the eradication of psychiatry.

All in all I hate them both but if these things are your thing..go for it. They're just not mine

The only type of person that has low mental capabilities is someone who has to wave the scientific method around like a huge red flag just to prove the discipline is indeed a science.

That seems to me that you need the word "science" to validate everything. Because

"science" = close to STEM subject = STEM = success

This is quite frankly what it boils down to even if you don't realize/acknowledge it.

Let me guess; you're something in the "neuroscience" field. Oh, a BS in neuroscience, lets play doctor!

The social sciences are academic disciplines that pursue the scientific study of the social life of human groups and individuals. They include subjects such as anthropology, economics, geography, history, political science, psychology, social studies, and sociology."

Clearly says economics. http://www.digitaleconomist.org/economics.html

Here you go a break down about what it is that an economic does.

http://www.investopedia.com/articles/economics/11/difference-between-finance-and-economics.asp Seems are confused Economics and Finance are not the same though they are closely related.

http://www.arachnoid.com/psychology/ Break down on how it is indeed a science. If you have heard of the scientific method then you would understand it is a lot more than just psychiatry.

https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/under-the-influence/201308/the-psychology-the-psychology-isnt-science-argument - Will set your mind at rest if you still think it is not a science.

http://www.sciencebuddies.org/science-fair-projects/project_scientific_method.shtml - Here you are in layman's terms explaining what the Scientific Method is.

I can understand your point on there indeed being outliars and the data or research not being 100% but in no field is research or studies seen as 100% correct. It is your personal opinion that makes you say these things and that is fine. Also your opinion if you think it is all useless and that it changes nothing. Of course that statement could also be proven wrong but like you said this is not a debate. Good day :)

Hahaha the scientific method...what is this? Are we sitting in 7th grade science here?

You sound like a person in psychology trying to validate your life choices. It is not a science. It shouldn't even be a discipline.

I figured for someone with your mental capabilities I'd keep it as simple as possible.

Though the funny thing is I am not even in the Psychology field directly. :) I just felt like shedding light on your ignorance might help you down the line.

This is hilarious because you are quite predictable and amusing. Silly broad I am solely providing you with the texts that explain it all clearly. I just told you I am not even in the field heavily, meaning your whole useless equation seems like a lot of rubbish to me. Nice way to divert how utterly ridiculous you look, bravo. "Low mental capabilities" honey, if you are trying to insult me you are going to have to be more original than that.

"Waved like a huge red flag" Ha! Oh my if you spent half the time looking for research to back up your useless rantings as you did on this dramatic imagery then we would indeed have something to talk about.

*Dramatization by the way is distasteful when done incorrectly.

Ahh I see you edited. Do not worry about my field that is not what is in question here.

An undergraduate? Now this is hilarious. I am pretty sure I am older than you Pink. You look horribly silly trying to now validate your "beliefs" by calling me a "little undergrad". You really are a small minded person but I can not judge you for that, small minded people are needed in the world to remind the rest of the population that it could it be worse.

You are predictable because you are an emotional little spazz. It's endearing... almost. You strike me as a BPD.

Now I will not continue this back and forth with you it is tedious and your arguments and justifications are mediocre at best.

No....I highly doubt you are lol. Not that it matters. I am small minded...when it comes to pseudo science lol. It is not worth my time. Your ambition is cute, but I can see young ambition from a mile away and you wreak of it. Not that I don't like ambition, I hate when a young ambitious person tries to act like they are the frontiers of whatever they are doing when the reality is they have basic, rudimentary training.

You see, a lot of the disorders in the DSM like BPD are little inventions to turn big profits. Knock knock. (I'll ignore your insult, it's hard to come to grips with the fact your field of study is essentially bullshit. and easy bullshit at that)

I am glad you realize that because I do not have any plans to change my opinion. The mass interest in psychology will always be ludicrous to me and the pushing it off as a science in order to give someone a boosted ego will always not fly with me.

You are not a day older than 21, 22 at most. You love math right? So let's do some together my BPD friend 22+7= 29 :)

Now you see that yet again you are wrong. I think what you smell is your own stench of idiocy, read a book or two, learn when to keep your mouth shut and I am sure you would be more tolerable. I would say you would be cured but I am not sure in your case, so providing you with false hope would make me monstrous. "My field"? Hmmmm are you unable to read too? Pity. I won't repeat myself you can figure it out and if not that's tragic for you. Ego boost? Are you projecting because my ego is just fine, thank you however for worrying about it. If it is you that needs the boost I am not the one to provide it, look elsewhere.

Au revoir! Have a good morning (or night).
