They weren't going after aspies, they were going after little kids who stayed up past thier bed times, or woke up a little early on a Sunday. "party chat", call us for a party! Only 10.00 per minute.
The amount of hours a kid will spend watching commercial television, compared to the hours they will spend learning anything remotely useful about the world in school, is an excellent insight into how fucked up the world is.

It still gets the advertisement into their heads, which is the point of the commercial in the first place. Even fast forwarding through them gives you flashes of it, and if it's recognized it's still doing its job somewhat. Even people discussing commercials like the damn tape recorders that they are further sell the product.
Adult Swim ads even thank DVR watchers for not immediately fast forwarding.
