Disregarding the first line, quality post. Seems you have been reading your philosophy. Still think you should start with the Greeks and work your way up.
Religion is the highest expression of human intellect.
Conceiving of the immaterial, deriving and procuring inspiration and motivation for the finest of human dexterity.
For sure.
A means to an end, a means of consolidation
Consolidating what?
There is no such thing as a 'why' when it comes to understanding the universe and our being. 'Why?' Is a human concept.
So there is such a thing. It's a human concept.
It does not apply to the universe. We have anthropomorphised the universe and we have duped ourselves into believing the universe has a reason to exist.
You are anthromorphosizing.
Asking "Why are we here?" And "What does this all mean?." Are entirely fallacious things to say. They're logically flawed questions.
An easy frame to toss out from the frame you're looking at them from.
Religion is the highest expression of human intellect.
Conceiving of the immaterial, deriving and procuring inspiration and motivation for the finest of human dexterity. In this we find Reification, we find the full unbounded expression of ourselves, and we see the aspirations of mankind portrayed almost cinematically.
This, to me, is the true secularised definition of religion. It is a positive one. Differing much so from the average dogmatic approach to the doctrines of these ideologies.
If only one were to realise the beauty of living accordingly, that is, according to the nature of these religions, in harmony with the fact they're no more than pure human adroitness. A means to an end, a means of consolidation, something that can only be interpreted subjectively.
There is no such thing as a 'why' when it comes to understanding the universe and our being. 'Why?' Is a human concept. It does not apply to the universe. We have anthropomorphised the universe and we have duped ourselves into believing the universe has a reason to exist. Mainly because we live lives of order.
We wake up, eat when we're hungry, sleep when we are tired and live somewhat predictable lives. All of this is because of self awareness. Because of consciousness. We have the ability to understand what we are, we can imagine ourselves in situations, we understand our roles in certain circumstances.
We make the mistake of applying this human logic to something inanimate. Something that has no consciousness.
Asking "Why are we here?" And "What does this all mean?." Are entirely fallacious things to say. They're logically flawed questions.
Well you are missing some fundamentals to back it up. For example a definition of "human intellect" and what you have been describing in your post is not religion so much as it is belief in a higher entity or a search for an abstract high meaning. Ether use induction or elimination to 'prove' something.
