So last I looked, these guys were rioting about marijuana legislation a few years back. I go to look now, and they are still rioting. I mean this city looks to be a potential quasi military uprising in the USA. What do you think?

A wild and growing anti-police revolt is in full swing across the Bay Area. It is a node in the growing national movement sparked by the insurrection in Ferguson following the police execution of Michael Brown, and at the same time it is a continuation of local struggles dating back at least to the 2009 Oscar Grant riots in Oakland.
They are clearly using fire bombs. That's a clear signal that militant attitudes are taking root, if you ask me.

OAKLAND, Calif. -- At least one city leader wants to declare a state of emergency in Oakland after there were six murders in one week, including four in one day.
All the victims were men or boys. Four of the crimes happened Friday between 2:30 and 8:20 p.m.The Oakland Tribune reports that Vice Mayor Larry Reid wants a state of emergency declared in Oakland, a move that would free up mutual aid funding from the state.
The police department says Friday's shootings are a result of ongoing feuds between groups.
The department says it will commit all available additional resources to the ongoing investigations.

Poverty and a lot of violence, not safe to ride the bus there even from those on the bus itself, injuries and victims ranging from near-death to death, gang activity inspired by rage, and I heard more stuff around the nature of the above when I was checking it's status when there was a Primus concert playing there.
I used to live in California. From that I'd heard a few precautionary tales either from those who were there or from the kids of parents that had to deal with it. I don't think I've heard any real happy stories with that location's name attached.

Why would you ever go around asking people that?
First of all, I would have probably yelled at him as a female. If a man I didn't know came up to me on the street and kept asking me to PULL ON anything of his over and over again, I would have walked away. If he persisted, I would have yelled at him. He is just foolish and lucky he didn't get seriously hurt.
It doesn't matter what neighborhood or town.
I think I went to Oakland once, I was with my ex bf. We were tourists and went to a show. We took a cab in and out. A lot of neighborhoods seem fine if you are nice and don't fuck with people. I felt safe with my ex bf. I enjoyed traveling with him. It is hard to find someone that can do that with you.
I have been to a lot of neighborhoods that may be unsafe. I just keep to myself. I like to travel and get along with most people. I can see where some may say my judgement is off. I Don't like to live a life in fear of the unknown. It may be because I have illnesses and try to get the most of life. kind of a bucket list. Or you only live once or live and let live.
I would like to go to Egypt, Africa, other places. Do as much as I can. I try to appreciate life.

Seriously though, it really looks to me, that if any place in the USA decided to go marshal law. Oakland is really pushing the limits.
I am going to guess this source is real and no conspiracy mag. According to them, they are already training for marshal law scenarios.

Similar exercises take place all throughout the year in different parts of the country, but Urban Shield in Oakland pioneered this effort 8 years ago and is one of the biggest events of it’s kind in the world.
