Critique of bourgeois collective consciousness

The values of the bourgeoisie are now the values of the masses,

^ yes, yes, especially in relation to consumerism. The bourgeoisie did this on purpose to

A) create slaves who will do whatever they want for material goods (that they sell to them)

B) because the proletariat on the small chance does breed people who with the drive for richness, and natural intelligence offer the bourgeoisie more opportunities to get rich in a symbiotic relationship

Critique of bourgeois collective consciousness

Culture, that post-modern culture that has developed as a result of bourgeois society. Economic determinism, from the economy comes the social structure and in conjunction the superstructure and universal mind to some degree.
In our case, it's consumerism and conformism. Society is built around these two factors, everything derives from fetishism, false consciousness instilled in the masses by the capitalist society and the class divisions. The quintessential media bias for the status quo, religious institutions, etc, is all controlled by the dominant class in society, those with the relation of production being the ownership of the means of production. And, of course, as long as a majority of the population is obedient then it doesn't take much exertion to expand the sphere of obedience and or keep them obedient. It is, as Gramsci would say, class hegemony. The values of the bourgeoisie are now the values of the masses, the views that subordination and acceptance of that subordination and subjugation of competition is good and just and is necessary to function a free society, this is what gave rise to fascism.

Within critical theory.

Capitalist culture is a selfish one, art is restricted to only a minority... The rest of the people suffer from philistinism. They haven't been brought up in a society that teaches appreciation, but a society that teaches greed, ignorance is strength, consume and it'll be okay, etc. The hollowness of mans soul has become filled with the hollow and desolate bourgeois dream, that dream which one must be asleep to believe. Indeed, it requires a fully developed false consciousness and In the post-modern era of successive industrialism and a consumer based society, it has developed. Everybody is now addicted to the things made for them, everywhere they go there is things made especially for them. But when these people go out into nature... None of that exists. They begin to feel bored, dissatisfied... This is the rise of philistinism. In this, the majority of society becomes nothing more than a homogenised mass of slavery... Where you work only to buy the products your labour produces, slavery with the new and improved version of Christianity: Consumerism. Just like the slaves of early bourgeois society, that society that was dependent upon the trans Atlantic slave trade for the very development of capital is using ideology to not only justify it's existence but to keep the masses in a kind of mental bondage.
