The very culture we live under is one that is a shackle not only to the mind but to the physical body. The education system, television, Gaming, Literature and every single thing all serves a purpose: Oppression,subordination and exploitation of a majority. The poor learn to toil for their life and earn only subsistence, the rich are taut to rule and impose this unjust system.
The vacuousness of the masses cannot be explained in terms of personal apathy, that apathy has to be induced by an external environment that enforces such behaviour and thought. The liquidation of individuality, the mass manufacturing of workers, the constant flow of trends that creates more conformity. This is a very sinister plan created by the elites of this current society. Capitalism has made us egocentric, idiotic, incompetent, brainwashed, and has successfully inflated many egos that continue to keep the mind locked, a majority of people who will turn you over and leave you abandoned. This world is pretty much exactly like 1984 in a very subconscious way, not too many people can see it and those who deny it are the worst of all. The reactionaries.
Everywhere you see ingratiating infatuations and ingratiating people looking for approval, looking to consume, looking to continue a life of ignorance whilst digesting more and more attention. It's the capitalist system that created this, and only a communistic cultural revolution can change it.
Anybody who disagrees deserve to be shot
Jack has a point. We're all brainwashed into the religion of political authority, ie. the belief that we should have rulers. But that's not a problem with Capitalism, which is just people acting in an economy, pursuing their personal gain as they're biologically wired to do. There's nothing wrong with that.
The problem is Crony-Capitalism, where the state supports its cronies at the expense of everyone else, but that's just part of the system working as intended.
