What if?

Sure, everyone is probably going to have a bias in their views. For instance, how can a young earth creationist believe that the bible is true, the earth is only a few thousand years old, and man both walked next to the dinosaurs and lived to be 1000 years old.

Maybe aliens landed and populated the Earth? Maybe, there is no such thing as a young earth creationist, and it is nothing more than a smear campaign tactic used against them? The most vehement of them, seem to be landing themselves in prisons.

"All of it" would have to clash somewhere, wouldn't it?

What if you believed in all that Illuminati stuff, or all that conspiracy junk, and all that Scientology stuff. All of it. What conclusions would you arrive at and how would it change the way you live life?

For instance, let's say the bible is true. Let's start with the creationists.

What if people really did live to be 950 years old?

What if man really walked next to dinosaurs?

What if the creationists are a resistance force? So to speak?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kent_Hovind

Kent E. Hovind (born January 15, 1953) is an American young Earth creationist and conspiracy theorist. Hovind has spoken on creation science and has aimed to convince listeners to reject scientific theories of evolution, geophysics, and cosmology in favor of his interpretation of the Genesis creation narrative from the Bible. Hovind's views are contradicted by scientific evidence and some of his ideas have also been criticized by young Earth creationist organizations such as Answers in Genesis.

Hovind established Creation Science Evangelism in 1991, and frequently spoke on young Earth creationism at seminars at private schools and churches, debates, and on radio and television broadcasts. Since January 2007, Hovind has been serving a ten-year prison sentence after being convicted of 58 federal counts, including 12 tax offenses, one count of obstructing federal agents, and 45 counts of structuring cash transactions. He is incarcerated at the United States Penitentiary, Atlanta.

Well, probably it'd be hard to accept at the beginning...like when someone comes up with a new idea, theory which replaces current paradigms...that's how knowledge and things in general are: nothing's static, things are inherently dynamic.

I think the process would be something like this (obviously a little bit harder for those ones who are skeptical and/or dogmatic):

Edit: "So if believed that humans could reach the age of 1,000 years old, it wouldn't change the way you live life or approach your daily activities in any manner?"

No, not really...it'd probably make me sadder for a while.

It wouldn't make any difference. Maybe I'd read some of these things to have a better understanding of the past, but honestly, I doubt it'd have an impact in the way I think.

Maybe the world would change drastically, but I wouldn't change the way I see things.

So if believed that humans could reach the age of 1,000 years old, it wouldn't change the way you live life or approach your daily activities in any manner?

Let's start with simple things. For hundreds of years, people simply did not believe in giant squids. They were nothing more than giant tales told by "crazy" fisherman.

"Still a baby by giant squid standards"

Here is a tree that lives to be over 3,500 years old.

The maidenhair tree remains virtually unchanged today and represents the only living bridge between 'higher' and 'lower' plants (between ferns and conifers). Maidenhair trees can be extremely long-lived, the oldest recorded individual being 3,500 years old.

So...how do you manage it'???

If there's a stage in your life and/or shocking events that might change the perspective of how you see and/or do things, how do you deal with the fear/anger moment???

"So...how do you manage it'???"

The anger that stems from fear/shock isn't direct, it's malleable and can be bended into determination on something else.

Intresting.

The angle between fear and anger is very acute with me.
