Mostly saying that seems to be the method employed here, attempting to map out contradictions between their actions and sociopathic traits.
It's easier to prove who doesn't fit the bill than to prove who does. It's like a witch hunt in reverse.
I'm not sure how affective that would be in an online environment. Some sociopaths online may still feel the need to hide behind a mask so to speak, especially if they're also the paranoid type, while other sociopaths may feel that being online is the place where they can drop their mask and just be themselves.
Creedmoor's comment (below) that was posted on another thread, gave me the idea for this thread.
When I joined the forum. I started doing research on sociopaths. Watching videos and reading articles online. Then I started reading your posts (curent-past) and began obsurving who I believe to be true and who I believe to be false.
I think it's an interesting topic because a lot of people seem to have their own ideas on how a real sociopath would act online, especially in a forum that is intended for them.
The question I have for you all is... How do you personally determine who is a real sociopath by the way they act online? What particular characteristics of theirs would stand out to you in an online environment?
I want to be very clear that this is about sociopaths in general. Try to remember that when responding.
Try and see if you can spot the gender...

The Naipaul test: Can you tell an author's sex?
In an interview at the Royal Geographic Society this week, during which VS Naipaul provoked fury by suggesting that women writers are 'sentimental' and 'unequal to me', he also claimed that 'I read a piece of writing and within a paragraph or two I know whether it is by a woman or not.' Do you?
Before you decide if you can spot lies.
The last time I took this over 3 years ago. I failed miserably. fuk it I'm going to start a thread for this one...
Call me doctor empath. I don't know. It is just my instinct. Anyone who changes themselves to suit their audience. Someone who is inconsistent.
IE. someone who didn't know brothels were legal in Australia. Hmmm ring any bells?
And actually, that doesn't prove they are a sociopath. Just someone without a strong sense of self.
