I found this book.

It was recommended by Van Gogh to his brother, an art dealer. What do you think? I am unsure if I can understand the subtle nuances of french, especially after it's been through an interpreter.

"The sky is gray like a heavy leaden dome, the earth is covered with a shroud of snow; trees indulge in bitter winds their black skeletons; their feet are born and vegetate poisonous mushrooms; the flowers are dead; ice water is immobile between its shores without grass. Those who insist on calling the fountains of mirrors or shepherdesses contemplate their naive attractions and arrange their mere adornment

A worm that mine the leaves of mullein (mullein) comes out one day turned into a small white beetle shaped weevil; one who escapes from the thickness of the sheets of mauve, after living there and it be transformed is purple; another worm feeds on the parenchyma between the two membranes of the leaves of henbane, which is a poison, and emerges transformed into a fly.

Besides the plant shut in a room absorb some oxygen, they die an equal portion of carbonic acid, which is a deadly poison when it is mixed in too high a proportion of respirable air, which it is nevertheless a elements. This also explains the well-being that one experiences the day under the trees, well-being that comes not only from the shadows and freshness.

It is a family of poisonous plants in which we see the henbane , the datura stramonium and tobacco .
The tobacco is perhaps slightly less poisonous than datura ; but it is more than the henbane , which is a poison.
Here's a foot of tobacco that is a beautiful plant that can see in; she is six feet tall, and within broad leaves of a beautiful green, brought out bouquets of pink flowers, a graceful and elegant form.

For a long time tobacco flourished lonely and ignored in some corners of America. Wild which we have given water spirits, gave us in exchange tobacco, the smoke intoxicated them on great occasions. It is through this kind exchange that began poisons relations between the two worlds.

If, prior to this invention, a man was found who says us seek a way to get into the coffers a voluntary tax of several million per year; it is to sell people something that everyone would use, something we can not do without. There, in America, essentially poisonous plant; if you express its foliage a empyreumatic oil, one drop slain animals in horrible convulsions. Offer this plant for sale, chopped in pieces or powdered; we sell very expensive; we tell people to cram the powder in the nose.

I could go on. I dropped this in the reddit "Drugs" sub, and it clear as fucking day they are all chavs.

There is quite a bit of talk about poisonous plants.

Not that I do here on trial in these plants, I love the contrary because of their beauty, and besides medicine not even she draws from their poison drugs of great power.

Van Gogh, Picasso, they were all High Society Drug Dealers.

You know, they say Van Gogh cut his ear off. If that doesn't scream psychopathic, well.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vincent_van_Gogh

That evening, van Gogh severed his left ear (either wholly or in part; accounts differ) with a razor, inducing a severe haemorrhage.[note 12] He bandaged his wound, wrapped the ear in paper, and delivered the package to a brothel frequented by both him and Gauguin, before returning home and collapsing. He was found unconscious the next day by the police[note 13] and taken to hospital.[118][119][120] The local newspaper reported that van Gogh had given the ear to a prostitute with an instruction to guard it carefully.[121]

I thought I fell hard for women.

Don't waste your time on it Seraph. More of the obvious with splatterings of colorful adjectives to to dress it up every which way left of center. The usual take away message, balance and the question of which side of the equation you are standing on. Dials/ Controls and the rest of it. More or less a literature review sprinkled with more recent research and his personal anecdotes.

Listen to it while working on something else or it will put put you to sleep.
