Ozone, On Earth, Mars and Venus

Possum, I want to know what this guy knows...

http://science.nasa.gov/science-news/science-at-nasa/1999/ast06aug99_1/

"During the total eclipses of the sun on June 30, 1954, and October 22, 1959, quite analogous deviations of the plane of oscillation of the paraconical pendulum were observed..." - Maurice Allais, 1988 Nobel autobiographical lecture.

Basically, when a ball at the end of a rope is allowed to swing freely, during a solar eclipse, it changes it's angle of rotation.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flyby_anomaly

The flyby anomaly is an unexpected energy increase during Earth-flybys of spacecraft. This anomaly has been observed as shifts in the S-Band and X-Band Doppler and ranging telemetry. Taken together it causes a significant unaccounted velocity increase of over 13 mm/s during flybys.[1]

Basically when something flys from outer space into the Earths atmosphere, at a specific angle, it accelerates for unknown reasons.

Supposedly similar things are happening with deep probe spacecraft attempting to exit the solar system.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pioneer_anomaly

The Pioneer anomaly or Pioneer effect is the observed deviation from predicted accelerations of the Pioneer 10 and Pioneer 11 spacecraft after they passed about 20 astronomical units (3×109 km; 2×109 mi) on their trajectories out of the Solar System. The apparent anomaly was a matter of tremendous interest for many years.

What's it mean? I don't know...

Ozone, On Earth, Mars and Venus

From Europes International Space Agency...

http://www.esa.int/Our_Activities/Space_Science/Venus_Express/ESA_finds_that_Venus_has_an_ozone_layer_too

Ozone has only previously been detected in the atmospheres of Earth and Mars. On Earth, it is of fundamental importance to life because it absorbs much of the Sun's harmful ultraviolet rays. Not only that, it is thought to have been generated by life itself in the first place.

You guys ever seen this? Ganymede is said to be the only known moon in the solar system with an active magnetosphere.

Basically what that means is that there is a metallic core in it's center like the Earths that is rotating and generating massive electrical fields. So they presume...

Another interesting feature of Venus, is that it has lightning.

11.28.07 - NASA Scientist Confirms Light Show on Venus

Venus is a hellish place of high temperatures and crushing air pressure. The European Space Agency's Venus Express mission adds into this mix the first confirmation that the Venusian atmosphere generates its own lightning. The discovery is part of the Venus Express science findings that appear in a special section of the Nov. 29 issue of the journal Nature.

Now this one boggles my mind...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cryovolcano

Ice volcanoes were first observed on Neptune's moon Triton during a Voyager 2 flyby in 1989.[1]

Plumes above the limb of Enceladus feeding Saturn's E Ring. These appear to emanate from the "Tiger Stripes" near the south pole

On November 27, 2005, Cassini photographed geysers on the south pole of Enceladus. (See also: Cryovolcanism on Enceladus.)

Indirect evidence of cryovolcanic activity was later observed on several other icy moons of our Solar System, including Europa, Titan, Ganymede, and Miranda. Cassini has observed several features thought to be cryovolcanoes on Titan, notably Sotra Patera, a feature regarded as "the very best evidence, by far, for volcanic topography anywhere documented on an icy satellite".[3] Cryovolcanism is one process hypothesized to be a significant source of the methane found in Titan's atmosphere.

In 2007, observations by the Gemini Observatory showing patches of ammonia hydrates and water crystals on the surface of Pluto's moon Charon suggested the presence of active cryovolcanoes/cryo-geysers.[4][5]

So that is Mars, Venus, the Earth, and even the icy planets have volcanoes. Plus, the side of the moon that faces us, is basically one giant lava eruption. Giant oceans of lava basalt. The Mares.

Just some interesting similarities between the planets.

I will NEVER find the statement made by a planetary scientist about mars, but his opinion was that at one point in time, Mars had a very active magnetosphere. He was referencing the magnetic measurements of impact craters, hardening molten lava (which traps field strength in the rocks preserving general timelines). Makes me want to watch the movie, "The Core".

One more awesome theory forgotten in time...

Any of this stuff true? I don't know...
