Absolute socialism isn't a very good idea anyway, in my opinion. My point was mainly that the goal of "a more even playing field" could be reached by simply implementing a few "socialistic" reforms (nothing major, although I assume they'd be heavily debated from an ideological standpoint), this without turning the US into a communist or socialist state (or even remotely close to one).
by TheZodiacYeah, socialism isn't that bad, but it definitely needs some conditions to fluorish and succeed. Unfortunately, these conditions are not the best and if it's imposed coercively, we'll have a new USSR, which will collapse eventually.
We just need fair competition and like you said: "a more even playing field".
Socialism doesn't have to be implemented with a Marxist goal and ideal; the fear of turning into a communist state is entirely unfounded. As I see it, a few "socialistic" reforms and the US would be back on track.
