Eh. Marriage is romanticized. Live with someone for a while, if it works then make it legal for the tax breaks and don't let the change enter the subconscious. No amount of advice is sufficient for the experience as all people are different and the dynamics are all different as well. 

I believe that marriage is a religious and cultural tradition, and that entering into a legally binding "permanent commitment" to someone is ridiculous, and should only be done for economic or citizenship reasons, if at all. I think divorce rates are a good indicator of how successful the construct of "marriage" is.

Anyways, I thought it ironic you posted that here, because a marriage involving a sociopath is highly likely to be a disaster.

You have black and white thinking, while TC is 9859462374632564 shades of gray and not even the clearest things under the sun (and around the sun) are black or white to him. A moment of comedy just happened because of that.

No big deal. I don't mind being ridiculed. I have a very sarcastic and self-deprecating sense of humour.  It just gets a bit out of hand. 

And yes, I realize the irony of posting a marriage post on this particular web site. I was just trying to generate conversation.

You could have written anything and I'd likely have found ways to say it's "bad" if not inconsequential. When you really reach into what makes a person, you'll generally find more "bad" than "good", which to me has me apply less weight to the concept of morality. How can someone be a "bad person" if everyone is?

It's only ironic if you think all marriage is done out of love.

Not all, but some. I just think if you look at the practical aspect of it, someone in my age group would only marry for love or companionship. I am independent in a lot of ways, but also like companionship. I am cynical about marriage, but then again, I am a cynical person.
