When I paste in the url and click ok it just kinda reloads the same page, but with a big red X in the preview window and the url disappeared from where I pasted it. Tried with postimage.org too and still just ended up with this: 

somebody actually needs to sit down and teach me how to upload images to this fucking site.

Edit: Also, i don't agree with the results at all. There is no fucking way I am that much of a narcissist. Or indeed that much of an extrovert.

So, on a serious note... the button is physically not working from the sounds of it?

First, click on the little landscape (mountain and sun icon), in the bar on your bottom right.

Next, paste the url of the image in the box below.

My favourite image host is postimage.org. Directions on the site are self-explanatory. Select direct link once you've uploaded the image.

Assuming that this method isn't a thing that works, replace http:// with i. and add .png to the end of the links you just gave. As an example, "http://imgur.com/ErZ6s8p" becomes "i.imgur.com/ErZ6s8p.png". Put that into the mountain image box button's URL link and you should be good.

Okay, I just looked at your post's source code. You are attempting to put the http link into the image field as opposed to the image link itself. That is why it isn't working. The following tip earlier ought to fix it:
