The TV show Walking Dead is great. A cool post-apocolyptic mind fuck.

If there really was a zombie apocalypse would you be a renegade raping and killing or would you form a group and retain some humanity ?

I would form a group and I would be good, but I could certainly kill and be a bit ruthless if I had to. I am not a raping and killing type.

When people like you started watching walking dead, I lost all interest in it.

Now that it has a larger audience, the staff is too afraid to kill off prominent characters like Glen and Daryl who according to the comic books(which the show follows vaguely enough) should've died last season.

It also makes me cringe because everyone who watches that show has a fool-proof zombie apocalypse plan. I stopped watching immediately so I wouldn't be associated with those people.

I made a thread a while ago about this: http://sociopath-community.com/topic/2014-02-22/walking-dead-discussion#70578

My favorite character was Morgan.

Yeah... fans have a magical way of making anything fun seem lame and campy. There's a few shows where reverse peer pressure ended up becoming a thing to the point of it's detriment, and whenever it becomes self aware it usually hurts itself further.

I have trouble enjoying Dr. Who as much thanks to the damn fans.

GROSS! ^ I hated the Governor immediately.

Daryl wasn't in the comic book, was he?

It won't be the same without The Governor. He was hot.

Your right he wasn't. The governor bears a striking resemblance to another character in the comic book who has a similar background and that individual ends up killing Glen.

I'd be a loner circling around a certain area continuously, you never want to just settle down in one spot unless you have a bunker or some other abundant source of supplies. I'd post up in hidden positions and shoot easy targets(people) on sight not for the sadism but for the supplies and safety concerns. Despite it being the zombie apocalypse, later on your biggest threat will still be people, I'd rather not be surrounded by them.

I've stated before that I'm territorial.

It can't be mine if everyone else can have it and I'm not about to convince every new walking dead watcher that I'm a bigger fan. It's just petty and I'd rather quit watching the show altogether. Especially when the general populace starts an ignorant behavior that becomes attached to the show, I'd rather not get labeled under that either.

You should see the survivalists forums when someone new joins, half of the time it's "Oh, so you've finished season two of the walking dead, holy shit Les Stroud."

So, basically, you let other people dictate how much you enjoy a TV show. As if other people's opinions actually mean that much...

I find that amusing.

Have you never had the misfortune of dealing with too many fans of something you once loved, if not presently do? It's grating, and overtime their fandom begins to transfer towards your ability to enjoy the thing itself. If it's a possession, it becomes the "Everyone has one" annoyance, while if it's a show it's painful to imagine how the fans will respond to it, if not encountering such trash affecting the ability to appreciate it after it's first viewing. Shows also risk becoming aware of the fandom, which often leads to them catering to it, selling out their writing to keep them on board.

I just remember every time I'd try to watch the 10th Dr. Who, and I'd just think "Damn it, I know someone squeed at that bullshit", and overtime it has the show feel more "expected". It takes an amazing show to resist the damage idiot fans can do to it, as their gunk tarnishes the image. Watching it with even one brain dead fan present makes it like torture, like you ought to be ashamed for liking something that sells to such an audience.
