You changed your mind after we started to give you shit for your action. You got scared we'd stirr the waters enough to have Luna fire you. You would have been right about that, I'd have made it a mission to have you kicked out as admin for muting people for personal reasons.
No, I changed my mind after speaking to Luna about it. It had nothing to do with you or anyone else here.
Luna didn't tell me not to have that rule either. She just told me that anyone could come back on a new username anyway, so what's the point. I could see where she was coming from and changed my mind about it.
I expected to get shit here over pretty much everything the moment Luna announced I was admin. That was no surprise. So, any shit you and others give me over what I do here wouldn't make an ounce of difference.
Luna has never had a reason to 'fire me'
I'd have made it a mission to have you kicked out as admin for muting people for personal reasons.
My reasons for making the new rule were not personal though. I made that rule to protect everyone from having their private info exposed and to make sure there are consequences for those who expose it. As it is, there are now no rules and no consequences, so anyone can do what they want, and if they post your private info, I don't have to do a damn thing about it if I don't want to.
But of course, you're welcome to make it your mission to try to have me kicked out as admin anyway. It wouldn't be the first time that bullshit's been tried.
by EdvardYou've never shown to be bothered by info exposure until it happened to you tk.
Well, of course. It hadn't happened to me before, so I didn't care.
I'm not going to deny that I had myself primarily in mind when I made the new rule, but you also can't deny that it protected you and others as well. So, does it really matter what my motive was?
I'm fine with you being admin. You finally learned that no rules is the best approach,
I never cared for rules to begin with, especially considering I'm one of the people who usually gets kicked or banned off forums for breaking them.
It's different when you're the one enforcing the rules because then you have the authority, rather than someone else having it. I have a big issue with anyone having authority over me. Thus, the reason I had an issue with anyone else being admin here.
and you're good at doing nothing or muting dex on sight.
Right... I do nothing as admin, aside from deal with dex...
It's not like I've actually had to spend time cleaning up spam off the forum or anything. Of course, nobody ever bothers to thank me for it either, but I'm cool with that. I don't really expect any gratitude.
by TurncoatAt least you admit your motives are that selfish, although you likely adapted and thought that in hindsight instead of thinking that way in advance.
Huh? Why would I have thought that in hindsight instead of thinking that way in advance?
I have no problem admitting that I'm selfish. I always have been.
"Well, of course. It hadn't happened to me before, so I didn't care."
This sentence is you in so many ways.
"So, does it really matter what my motive was?"
Kinda. It's the sort of thing that helps for seeing what sort of direction you planned to take things. If that's how you responded to threats made against you, it'd show those who aim to harm the site that all they have to do to implement rules is attack you.
"It's different when you're the one enforcing the rules because then you have the authority, rather than someone else having it. I have a big issue with anyone having authority over me. Thus, the reason I had an issue with anyone else being admin here."
It's almost hypocritical, being against moderation until it's granted to you. At least you admit your motives are that selfish, although you likely adapted and thought that in hindsight instead of thinking that way in advance.
