thanks for your opinion if not a smear campaign, what would be their next possible move, I do like my job but I don't like having secrets, so I expose myself quite often just to keep myself in tune, I've already had many death threats, threats of rumours, but they will need a plan B what could it be, by the way I am a sociopath, but I discovered empathy about 12 years ago, through an extreme event
Well, you sound as if you are forgetting a significant portion of your life, prior to the shocking event.
Maybe if you have the money, or if you can find a free place, such as a church confessional, or better yet a confidential therapy group or individual service to let out what is bothering you in terms of secrets so you can sort out the severity of the secrets balanced against your public life.
Smear campaigns never work. The person flinging the accusations has to have a reputation that is recognized by people as being superior, such as a mayor or a judge (even the mayors don't have as much say as a judge), and so on...
Normally the smear campaign results in a total loss of credit towards those spreading the rumors.
In many cases, you might find people come to your aid in the event the smears begin to effect your health and welfare, such as being fired from a job, in which case, be sure to start collecting evidence for your civil court case.
If you are not of the money hungry type, then just laugh it off, the majority of people who spread rumors eventually get hooked on it, and they become known for spreading juvenile things. It ruins them long term.
If it is seriously effecting your welfare. Get a peace bond or a restraining order, and put it into place immediately. That's what the normal thing people have told me in the past to do.
If they are total creeps, chances are they will go beyond smearing and try getting the police involved, so be prepared.

about a year ago my workmate tried to get between me and my partner and the same night so did a girl I know from work, that night I watched and realised they were both sociopaths, rare I know but true, so I decided I wanted them to hook up and destroy my own life at the same time to rebuild it how I want, I gave them many hints but they are not smart enough to see what I'm doing yet, it took 4 months to make them see each other for who they really are and start trying to trap each other, but it took about 7 months to make them turn on me, finally they have and they are doing the expected turning people against me and starting a smear campaign, it was hard work getting them to this point but I managed to do it, now my life is becoming honest and my partner trusts me more and I am a lot stronger mentally which is helping me with my career and they are slowly exposing themselves to the world, I told my bosses who they are and what will happen next without officially reporting them and what do ya know step by step they are doing exactly what I said they would and me and the bosses are sitting back laughing at them, they only have one move left to make before they lose their job and are run out of town ,
p.s. these aren't the first sociopaths I've done this too, I call this social cleansing, getting rid of morons and letting the world see my truths so I don't need the burden of wearing this mask

that's good advice thanks, as for now I'm documenting everything, and taking a back seat waiting for the pair to tear each other apart, they have turned this around on me but not enough to harm my job their story has many holes so I wont let them know that yet, as for me personally my sins are known and I've been forgiven by the people who matter I fixed that years ago and although I still think like a sociopath I don't feel like one
