Joints are the way to go if you want to enjoy flavor when smoking, it's not a waste. Gravity bongs tend to be more popular with the younger crowded. Having a real glass piece is the way to go.

I'd just smoke the drugs and see how you feel, friend.

At a trip with a bunch of friends from school back in Romania, when I was like 13, during a walk in the woods, we found this big ass field of weed. Judging by the high, they were all fine indicas. Now, instead of drying it and smoking, I had the idea of setting the whole thing on fire and getting high. Well, we were unable to contain the fire, and when we came back to our motels, the teachers had this scenario rolling in front of their eyes:

deers and wolves running around trying to save their lives in every direction, the whole forest in flames that were shooting up to the sky, and me and my buddies laughing uncontrollably, covered in black dust from the smoke, and barely able to walk straight, some of us crawling instead.

So conclusion: use a vaporizer

The joint is about 4 inches long. Do I have to smoke it all the first time lighting it up?

I suppose that smoking it first time It will only take a hit or two to get me high?

I hear some papers ruin the taste and if you really want to be a cool kid, you only smoke those big tobacco wraps and preferably the kind sliced fresh off a cigarillo.

Glass is ideal, I agree. 

Smoke as much as you feel like in one go. A couple hits might get you high, but smoking half of it certainly will.
