Sociopath Community

I volunteered at a local physical therapy place for about 6 months, just to have the experience on a resume. After a while, the regulars grew quite fond of me. And so did the employees, I talked with them a lot more than most of the people did there. I think they appreciated that, some of them told me things that seemed quite unfortunate.

Awwww I see...  I'd be pissed off too.

That's the awful thing about altruism, the regret afterwards.

 Not even as a form of manipulation to get something in return?

Of course I have, but then it's for me and not the other person.

Technically you are doing it for them also, because they're benefiting as well, unless it's a con or scam where they're losing more than they've gained from your behavior.

 I think the other party would have to know of this as well for it to be considered doing it only for the purpose of benifting yourself. From there standpoint you helped them out of kindness.

Just restraining myself in certain situations is a real benefit to those around me. Who knows the extent to which they would be beaten for their own stupidity if it was not for this restraint. That's a nice thing right?!

Smiffy is right.. Exercising self restraint. I think the nicest thing I've done was to not kill someone. Mostly I just didn't want to go to prison. Other than that, I occasionally let people go before me in line at the grocery store if they only have a few items. I'm such a sweetie.
