There is so much to be fixed -- whats Humanity's problem?

There was a recent "I AM A" on Reddit about a 25 year old computer hacker who spent some time in prison

In his answers to one of the questions, he said that he was beat up in prison, and that he didn't tell the prison guards who did it.

I think that.. any administrator for a prison who has inmates who so obviously refuse to allows justice in fear of reprimand.. isn't doing their job. How can we allow violence to occur within prisons with almost no fear of penalty by those propagating because they are able to intimidate people into not telling!

It's ridiculous. It's one of the many very obvious problems of the U.S. Prison system, and and systems throughout the world as a whole.

So the question becomes.. when you have so many people such as Wardens, and administrators dedicating their lives to these jobs, yet doing nothing to improve the conditions.

It seems to me, then, what we have.. is a bunch of leeches who got jobs they don't deserve, and who keep them by doing.. who knows what? By keeping their politician keepers from embarrassment perhaps?

No one likes a snitch, and people know how to work around security measures to get a message across (not to mention people with life sentences being a thing). Those who work in prisons do the best they can, but they are stuck dealing with people with both the time and capability of planning with a history of crime and plenty of "teachers".

The prison system is a very complicated problem, and I honestly wouldn't even know where to start if I were in charge of fixing it.

What would your solution to this problem be?
