Excessive exercise, melatonin, sleeping pills (make me hallucinate), medicine with drowsy effects (make me hyper), marijuana (back in college), alcohol, ocean sounds, forest sounds, white noise, being massaged, riding uppers earlier in the day to try to exhaust myself faster, excessive masturbation, sex, snuggling, boring media marathons, head percussion, autohypnosis, St. John's Wart, repetitious mantras to try to empty the mind...
This only scratches the surface. Some of it helps sleep come sooner than without it, but none of it allows me to follow a 24 hour day. The easiest time for me is when I have a cold powerful enough to allow me to sleep whenever I desire to.
