Give away and keep

by Turncoat

If I were put into a situation where I had to make the choice, I'd rid of whatever weakness was present that was forcing me to go through with it, then I'd keep everything else~

Fine, seriously:

I'd rid of my light sensitivity while keeping my high expectations.

I'm the same. Almost no sensitivity and my expectations are so high of others they are usually not attainable. I expect perfection from others in areas I am not.

I would want to do away with some of my pride and exchange it for being more humble.

I've managed to stabilize all of my flaws except that.

I'd give away my boredom trait. I am consistently bored on a daily basis, even when I'm doing things to try and kill the boredom, I'm still fucking bored.

I would keep my aggressive trait. Even though it's the one trait that will likely get me into the most trouble one day, I like the feeling of aggression. It's like a boost of energy. It makes me violent though, which can be frustrating when there's no release, but when there is release, it's awesome.

Never being bored? Wouldn't everything not being boring have it almost become it's opposite, constantly dramatic? Is there a line it'd be drawn at that would, in effect, become the new "boring"?

It sounds hypothetically exhausting. Only if you were also driveless could it be anywhere near contentment.

Although I didn't list it, I have a huge issue with boredom too. You are right TC, it's exhausting in it's own way.

Actually, I was saying boredom has it's uses, at least when compared to it's absence. If boredom were completely absent, wouldn't everything become it's opposite, dramatic, and in turn, that much more exhausting?

To be honest, I never thought about that. I was just thinking I would have less boredom. Not none whatsoever.

Then again, I've spoken to people who claim they are never bored because they're always doing something. The little things that interest them though, bore the shit out of me.

If I had no boredom, I think I would just be more easily satisfied by the things that don't satisfy me currently.

But you'd also be equally satisfied just staring at stuff, like paint drying, or the corner of a room. The only room for comparison would be quality of your time, which itself would lack "entertainment factor" as a factor.

It's stuff like that that makes wishing away boredom spooky to me.

Perhaps boredom at times has it's uses, I understand your point. Overall for me, however, boredom is exhausting. I had never considered it that way but when I saw that, it hit hard.  Really that's a great way for me to explain what happens. I get so bored, so frustrated with being bored all the time, it's just exhausting.
