How open are you about being a sociopath?

No it doesn't. I used that for lack of a better way for it to come up. I guess a better way of phrasing the question is, would you ever just admit it to someone you were going to get involved with if it somehow it came up? Would you throw hints that you are a sociopath or would you act the complete opposite?

 

 

why do you ask ?  How does this relate to you ?

 

 A close friend of mine is romantically involved with someone who claimed to be a sociopath from the beginning. He didn't use those words but he has heavily hinted at it, from the beginning. saying he has no conscience, doesn't have anxiety, nothing scares him and that he thinks he may be etc and it just didn't seem to make sense to me. So I decided to research about it and ended up here. Just seemed to me like he was just claiming this for some reason.

A disorder does not define you. Your actions do. Therefore, there is absolutely no reason to tell anyone about your possible condition unless you want to get some sort of a reaction, which is rather pointless.

If my boyfriend told me he was a socio, I'd laugh at him. Then evaluate the situation and consider egging him on prove it by getting some good chunk of money through a clever reuse. Of course, I'd love to play along. ;)

However, a good socio is like the NSA, never say anything.
