Doctors are lying scumbags!
Well there's another big difference between normal definitions of stuff and the dsm. Most definitions start from a specific thing that already exists (rabbit). In the dms, the docs start from existing personality traits and THEN put a name to diferent combinations of them... It's backwards compared to how things usually get defined. That's why having those traits is kinda vital to be disordered, you can't have a disorder without having its traits.
It is a surface diagnosis tool, a clinical observational tool. Nothing more. That does little if nothing to get inside the brains of an individual in an attempt to administer drugs that physically make the changes that are needed. This will probably change over the years, but for now get to understand your own behavior and brain and choose the right medications accordingly.
Most of the Diagnosis in the manual are broad sweeping generalizations.
There is nothing about brain inflammation, behavior being related to the failure of specific brain parts, nothing about bacteria infection or fungal over growth in the brain, and so on...
Spend some time on google scholar, otherwise you will be at the mercy of a thousand college graduates huddled around a diagnositic "manual". Same thing as bringing a foreign technology car to a garage that has never serviced that make or model before.
