Lol. So which kind of intelligence do you have, Jason? It can't be common sense, since you already admitted to not being able to quiet a child without smothering it in blankets and leaving it for dead.
if you cannot check the oil or water in a vehicle then "a" and "b" will not help you if your oil gauge shows empty or the vehicle gets hot. I am not saying to be able to change the oil or water in a vehicle just be able to check it.
Ooh, do I get extra common sense points if I can both check and change the oil and water?? In my car selling days I made it my business to familiarise myself with this kind of stuff, even though I had little experience or interest in it. See, if you have a basic level of intelligence then practical skills can be easily learnt. As Ana said, a monkey can do it.
If you can't change a light bulb, whether it be fluorescent or incandescent, then you're probably retarded. If you're proud of yourself for your ability to change a light bulb, then perhaps you're one step up from that, as is demonstrated in this diagram:
If we lived in some kind of medieval peasant economy where all that was required of you was toiling in the fields all day, then maybe these practical skills (and no, they're not the same as common sense) would be more highly valued. But this is the 21st century, and if you can't express yourself well, form productive relationships with people and generally have a basic understanding of the world around you then you are doomed to failure. Your life is a testament to this.
