Impersonators on Skype

Occasionally I get friend invites from people on Skype impersonating other people. I don't actually know they are impersonating someone else, but it's pretty easy to assume.

For example: Today I got an invite from someone claiming to be this person...

Needless to say, I declined the invite and didn't bother chatting with them.

What do people get out of this? What is the point of impersonating someone like the guy in the picture?

Have you ever received an invite from someone on Skype who you believe was impersonating someone else? If yes, who were they impersonating?

Once i got added by someone impersonating me, i realized they are an imposter because they weren't being extremely handsome and sexy.

It could actually be him. He's wearing service alphas, which means he's a Marine. I skyped a couple people while I was in the barracks and I consider myself decently introverted.

He's a General in the International Security Assistance Force and United States Forces.

I very much doubt the person who tried to contact me on Skype was actually him.

Way too many times have I had bots add me on skype. It doesnt help that their username is normally something like babycheeksxxx69 or some shit like that and they make it all too obvious that theyre bots when you talk to them
