Artistic Vision. do you have the eyes of a creator?

I know I have an absolute interest in art in any form even mixed mediums. There is something about creating people, and creatures out of clay, paint, wood or anything that gives me this god like sense of accomplishment.

I have to have a really advanced knowledge of human anatomy to pull any of this off. The thrill i get from creating is unrivalled in my life and i don't think i could live if i could not create.

Looking at people walking by i can see every tendon and muscle connection in my mind, mentally dissecting them to see how they react to the world and it's situations i love doing that with physically disabled because they are different physically and have different muscle definition and placement in some areas.

one time i was sculpting this badass war veteran from Toronto, Ontario. he showed me his wounds and i was in awe they were awesome to look at and the curves of where the shrapnel cut through made the skin look pail around the scars of his missing leg. so i turned him into a perfect bronze statue and made him look like a hero in a battle pose for his birthday. and he gave me one of his K-bar knives he got in Iraq as a thank you gift for my hard work.

so i turned him into a perfect bronze statue (...) for his birthday

Did you cast it yourself, or you have access to a foundry? Very few sculptors can cast well, even Damien Hirst gets the job done at a foundry nearby. (Not to mention, home casting takes quite some equipment.)

As for myself, I only work for money. As much as i like art, doing it myself is hard and tedious work so i better make sure i get a decent pay from the gallery to begin with, before i set out to do something.

Design is much easier (less thinking / more hands-on process), i sell that by myself without the midddleman whenever i fancy doing stuff.  But for the most part i just trade.

Sounds like Leonardo Da vinci....I am surprised you haven't started raiding the morgues

I am more into portraits...and can be become transfixed with a person's facial features when they are talking, therefore I am usually not listening...

Because I am lazy I do not think I could take on the whole human form but I do have a keen eye for observing it; shape, form, musculature etc...I did some clay sculpture once and really enjoyed it..

If I had time and money I would like to do nothing else..

I even dream about garden landscape and design ..

oh ..and creative furniture and design using recycled stuff. eg i saw some charis and tables made out of old rubber tyres recently...really impressed me..

and I think in colour a lot. Sometimes when I am down I think of colour and it cheers me up...either w clothes, interior design, garden....

So to summarise...I think and visualise creatively all the time but rarely DO it.

coloring is really hard for me, like tonal values and what not, and what looks good with another color. just hurts my head. i wish i was as good as Leonardo, ok i play up my own skills a bit but everyone like to talk themselfs up where they can right lol

Do have the eyes of a creator?

I used to sketch a little when I was younger, but art never really appealed to me enough to keep at it.

Some art is interesting (3D street art and Ice Sculptures), but most art I find pretty boring.

I like these:

It takes a lot of skill to come full circle and arrive back at simplicity; to leave out fussiness...to evoke a mood or image with scant detail;  to leave just enough to trigger ones imagination ....in a piece of art.

It is not easy to let go of all one has learned to become simple again...
