Sociopath-Community Census

by TheCrowOnTheFence

Female, 24 years old.  I have a lifestyle of constant traveling, but officially I'm a citizen of Ireland and the U.S.

I'm here for good company.  I feel less like an alien here than in any other social setting.

As for whether or not I'm sociopathic, it's difficult to say.  If the charactaristic lack of empathy and guilt apply strictly to humans, then yes.  If you count empathy towards animals as a viable subsititution, then no.

So... What is it that you do that has you on the move? If you're alright with telling.

Do you have any pets? I'm pretty sure psychopaths aren't able to care about animals. Their brains don't let them. My experience with them confirms it.

"And the rush of violence."

Oh, forgot about that.  That's a really, especially nice one. ^_^

That fleeting feeling in the moment that I decide to stop holding in my anger and just let 'em have it.

An old post of yours that intrigued me. In what context has a self proclaimed "nerd" got to experience those (admitedly awesome) feelings? :D

It's not my job, it's just what I do.  I settle in one place long enough to save up a bit of money (usually a couple months to a year), and then I just wander around for as long as the money will last me.

I have numerous pets.  If that's the case, then I'm just a person with oddly calibrated empathy.  However, that raises the question of whether something in the wiring of a psychopaths brain is inherently different than other peoples, or if it's just as inexplicable a psychological quirk as many other disorders.  If it's a physical difference, you're right.  If not, then it's entirely possible that I'm just a different sort of psychopath than most.  Which brings me back to the original question, "does empathy for animals count, diagnostically?".  And since no one seems to know the answer to this, I don't get a shiny label.  I just am what I am.

Just because I like comic books and swords and have a crush on Sherlock Holmes, doesn't mean my entire identity revolves around nerd stereotype.  Just like with my questionable psychopathy, I never fit neatly into any genre, it seems.  As for the context, mostly fights in dive bars.  Being a traveling farmhand, I find myself surrounded by drunk, pervy rednecks more often than I'd care to. XD  And there's something so satisfying about cracking someone across the face with a pool cue. : P

this varies from person to person.

something a psychopath can do however, is harm pets and like pets at the same time. just depends on the situation which one will he be doing. its the same with caring for pets, depends on the situation.
