Depends how many they have. That grey area is where it's largely the grounds for debate.
As my Abnormal Psychology professor said forever ago: "If it's not creating disorder in their lives, is it really a disorder anymore?"
I believe labels are worth having, and splitting the hairs between what's what is helpful, but I also believe many misuse those labels or are quick to assume something is full blown. Some really need the help, and not being able to label it for those cases could mean a slower healing process for those who actually benefit from things like therapy.
It's not the labels that are wrong, it's how people use them that is. It's the assumption that "there's a pill/surgery for everything" that makes it dangerous, as they won't delve beyond the label.
