Sociopath Community

Did you expect anything else on a sociopath forum? It's a game, and I was mostly curious to see how people would play. Damaged tried to force more detail on the items, which is clever. Someone else noted the compound nature of the first and second items. Thought processes are interesting.

well you should always check if the game itself is not flawed, because people usually suck, so they usually fuck up something. and there is the off-chance they did it intentionally. apparently you didnt fuck it up, but did the latter.

Alright, I'll put it to rest. The lie was that I'd tell two truths and a lie. In fact, the only truth was that I can memorize 9,000 digit strings after reading them once. The trick is relatively simple: each sequence of three numbers is converted to a unique image. Each image is, in turn, stored in a specific mental location in what is commonly referred to as a memory palace. I can put three images to each 'peg' in the memory palace, corresponding to a nine-digit sequence. The mental map I use for recalling numbers has 1,000 pegs. Therefore, I can remember 9,000 numbers. I could extend it by either making more pegs or creating unique images for four-digit strings, but as you can imagine that requires quite a bit more legwork to set up. There are, however, numerous other methods that people use to perform such feats.

Useless, you say? Then you should try imagining how many bar bets you could win in this fashion.

It took a couple of months to set up and practice. Now I'm trying to figure out how to do it to learn foreign languages. Vocabulary can be memorized pretty easily, but then the problem is accessing it at will during a conversation without having to mentally walk through all the pegs that precede the word. I'm thinking of doing it in a more associative fashion, so that words commonly used together are, say, in the same room of a memory palace.

I think I might have seen Postmodern hanging around another forum at some point...but then that handle is probably fairly common.

I taught myself Latin when I was fourteen-years-old, and I recommend that you devote your practice to translating sentences of your new language back into your native language. That's the most difficult part of learning a foreign language. Once you've got that down, your vocabulary will extend enormously.

I precede every single reference to my own narcissism with a disclaimer to my narcissism (from your perspective, that may be seen as more of a tribute to it. What do I care though? I'm a narcissist. Which directly contrasts your desire to have your own latent narcissism concealed because you fear you'll be mocked for it. Incidentally, that insecurity is more closely tied to narcissism than my open acknowledgement of my narcissist traits).
