I commonly dream that I am running, but not just on two legs...

When I want to make good speed in my dreams, I run on my knuckles, or grip the ground with my hands to help pull me forward.

In your life do you ever feel like you are stuck in the same dead end job or lifestyle ? If so maybe in your dream when you drop to all fours it is just a way of showing you that you are looking for more traction to move forward in life.

sry for such a rudimentary interpretation of your dream.

I'm sure some fancy words could have kept it short

The apology is unnecessary. The sentiment, appreciated.

I'd love to try lucid dreaming .

So would I but  I rarely realize that I'm in a dream while I'm dreaming and even if I do I never think about trying to take control of the dream.

I'm sure there are proper steps to follow and a methodology to know for it to work but I haven't done my research yet, well I've read this article on Wikipedia but that's it:

Perhaps something is holding you back from your true nature.

This makes me think of gollum from lord of the rings. Or a gorilla.

I very rarely dream, and it's annoying to me. I'd love to try lucid dreaming - time spent asleep seems like a waste, but at least if I could control my thoughts there then somehow then it might be productive or fun. But I only seem to dream maybe once every four or five months so there seems very little point in trying to do it.

I like to think it is the muscle memory of my distant ancestors, but maybe you have a point.

Most of my dreams are realistic and boring. If I'm procrastinating or forgetting to work on a project, I'll dream that it's due, and I don't have it, and experience in my dream what it will be like to try to explain why I didn't do it. I suppose that's my subconscious trying to communicate with my conscious mind.

My dreams are usually nightmares with strange almost Cthulhu-ish horrors. I'm usually stuck in Cassandra Complex situations while terrible things occur. Many people in the dreams cannot be trusted either, that usually becoming noticeable if they take my words a little too seriously.

The dreams keep me sharp and easily awakened, but at a cost. Thankfully the dreams are far more managable now, a few in the past left me stuck debriefing myself as to which of the two worlds was actually real.

Attempting lucid dreaming just makes it worse. My own mind seems to like sabotaging such efforts when I dream, causing any control I have to end with poor results.

I haven't been dreaming at all lately. I can't remember the last time I dreamed.

I rarely have nightmares. I can lucid dream though, but my dreams are always realistic. Nothing weird ever happens in them.

My imagination sucks.
