What are yall's thoughts on this? He makes some great points...
Yes, he said some excellent things. We should get out of the Middle East and stop foreign aid, especially to Israel. We should turn down the dial on military spending. We should get out of the business of being an empire.
Now here are some topics for concern. He talks as if the two party system is the main problem. I think the problem is the private sector taking over the government. Whether the politicians are in parties or not, as long as they are beholden to the corporations, they are not on our side.
I really don't think he can win without big money. But, if he runs, I may consider voting for him. I would have to know where he stands on more of the issues though.
I don't think we'll have an independent candidate in office any time soon. Those jaded toward political parties as a whole would need to become the majority. While I'm left with the impression that there are more independent voters than there once was, I don't think it's enough yet.
He also doesn't look too attractive, which is a voting criteria for some people. He looks like Young Frankenstein's Understudy or something.
How often does the American vote reflect logic, and not something akin to "I'd drink a beer with that guy", "His marriage is a good one" or "He looks so confident"?
People are typically shallow if not already prescribed to a party under a misguided lens of good vs evil. There's even people that follow voices like this guy's:
