I don't usually make an effort to impress someone unless there is something to be gained from it.
Depending on the situation and the individual I want to impress, I will...
...dress to suit the occasion
...be polite and respectful
...engage them in the conversation by asking about their interests etc.
....make some light-hearted jokes to get them laughing
...throw on the charm (stroke their ego, but not too much)
...flirt with them a little
I rarely try to impress anyone unless I gain something from it. Like sex.

Though there are two kids at my school I'm always impressing with random stories about my life, my experiences etc.. I come from the school of Hard Knocks.
I tend to impress people in my school without trying. Mainly by telling stories to these two kids and proving what I have done to them. I thrive off social interaction, but I mainly fuck with people. I've come to realize my school year is almost over and I'll never need these two people again. I need to earn back some credits so I'll probably be in summer school, and I plan on being completely schizoidal about this whole situation. I don't need anyone in my life for a month, just to be thrown out.
