Wisdom vs Intelligence

There is a big difference between the two terms, namely, intelligence and wisdom. Intelligence is normally construed to be the amount of information gathered in the human brain. Wisdom on the other hand is the intelligence that we gain in the process of learning from the mistakes that we commit.

One of the main differences between intelligence and wisdom is that intelligence is the knowledge gained without making a mistake, whereas wisdom is the knowledge gained by making mistakes.

You can define wisdom in another way too. It is absolutely right to define wisdom as intelligence that is used. It would quite naturally mean that if intelligence is not properly put to use then you are not considered a man with wisdom.

I have made a lot of mistakes in my life, and for the most part I have learned from those mistakes. So I guess you can say that I am a wise mother fucker.

It once again shows that a person with wisdom should naturally be endowed with sufficient intelligence too. This is because of the fact that he has gained a lot of knowledge by making mistakes and thereby gained intelligence too in the process since he might have gained knowledge even by not making the same mistakes.

It is important to note that wisdom cannot be taught where as intelligence is gained when something is taught.

The hell? You can become wiser by learning from other people's mistakes too.

Wisdom vs Intelligence

Intelligence is the capacity to acquire and apply knowledge, Wisdom is the accumulated knowledge that you possess.

With that being said, wisdom and intelligence are useful in their own rights.

Wisdom governs perceptions - what you recognize from seeing, listening, feeling.

Intelligence governs how you use knowledge.

Wizards use Intelligence. Clerics, Rangers, and Druids use Wisdom.
Oops. I play too much Dungeons and Dragons.

I would choose to take a decision after intelligence than take decisions after wisdom, because i think that wisdom leads to learn from ones mistakes than to avoid having to make the mistakes when taking decisions after intelligence.

Blessed are those who find wisdom, those who gain understanding, for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold.

Where then does wisdom come from? Where does understanding dwell?

God understands the way to it and he alone knows where it dwells.

And he said to the human race, "The fear of the Lord--that is wisdom, and to shun evil is understanding."

My son, if you accept my words and store up my commands within you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to understanding-- indeed, if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God. For the LORD gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.

I would have thought that wisdom is more about accessing your instinct and being able to follow intuition ?

It has nothing to do with  intelligence, either that learned from experience or books.

For many people the combination of intelligence and experience does not necessarily produce wisdom.
