I spent a good two or three years down the rabbit hole, and now I'm crawling out of it with fragments of my old self glued into this being I thought I needed to be.
Its not the worst place to be, the rabbit hole.
Just research the disorder and be objective in answering the online tests without any hidden desire for the answers to suggest you are a sociopath.
As for ''the void'' in your heart...most people have that.
Your thirst for knowledge is an asset , not a hindrance if you quench it with the 'finest of wines'
by RomuleSo I guess the reason I'm posting is I want to be sure. I won't pay some crack pot psych to confuse me. Is there anyway to tell for sure that you're a S, or in asking that question am I answering it?
If I understand you correctly, you're willing to trust the word of a bunch of strangers online, who don't know you from a bar of soap, more than a qualified psychologist. Am I right?
Seems legit.
Cereal box PhD's certainly do seem to be plentiful here. So, I'm sure we can come up with some fancy label for you if you tell us a little more about your life story.
Yes, I know they can. Though, they seem rather reluctant to do that unless the situation becomes more serious.
A psychologist I was seeing knew I was having homicidal fantasies because I told him, and I even brought a knife into therapy once (though I didn't threaten him with it). He could have reported me, but he didn't. The mental health clinic where I was seeing the psychologist did end up putting metal detectors on the doors though, which I found rather amusing.
