Depending on how narcissistic they are as well, sociopaths are braggarts occasionally. It's got nothing to do with proving ourselves and everything to do with simply showing off. It's no different from displaying a trophy you won on your mantlepiece because you want everyone to see how talented you are. It's a pride thing and sociopaths love to win.
