Anyone who believes such studies is a moron who falls for the latest things in pop psychology. Next week, we'll hear about a study claiming a link between cancer and PB&J
Anyone who believes such studies is a moron who falls for the latest things in pop psychology.
That's no argument.
It's plain common sense to assume that there's a correlation between our online persona and our real-life persona.
Now that's just one study as you so eloquently said studies tend to contradict themselves overtime but let's assume that a study is like a good lie and that there's a grain of truth in there.

The fact that there are online trolls that aren't sociopathic nor score high in traits, invalidates yours and this studies claim. I know some trolls in real life too, that just happen to be neither sociopaths nor psychopaths.
Did you even read the linked article?
I didn't claim that every troll is a sociopath. Every bully, every killer is not necessarily sociopathic either.
The study claims that when you analyze the behavior of trolls online they (as in some of them) would fit a personality profile on the DSM-IV. And most often than not (as in not always) would encounter the same four personality profiles:Machiavellian, narcissists, psychopaths, sadists.
To drive the point home that I don't think every troll is a psychopath let's take a 'real life' troll: Sacha Baron Cohen's character Ali G. He is a master troll and he is just portrayed as being stupid.
