How would you see things playing out if you posted a photo of yourself here, followed by taking it down an hour later?
"I'll get compliments from some people and those who dislike me will find some reason to mock me."
Okay, seems standard so far. No problems yet unless people insulting your appearance gets your goat more than you let on.
"You really think no-one will save my picture and post it themselves after I've removed the one I've posted?"
Save your picture? Probably. I know I do that anyway.
Posting it after? There was no reason to other than to mock your appearance before, while now you've expressed more strongly than usual that being seen is against your best interests. Before this thread, it would have just been some people laughing. After this thread, they now have more than enough proof that someone posting your face would actually hurt you, and can assume that you won't show yourself from seeing the photo as providing people ammunition.
The only reason you shouldn't post your photo now is because of your own self sabotage.
"Either you're naive or you foolishly think I am."
I just don't think anyone would bother enough about you to do any real harm here. Fake harm? Totally. Real harm? No one cares. You're not important enough to escalate further than watching you and laughing at the results.
"Not to me, it's not. And again, I've already given you a good reason why."
I meant as in posting the photo was not what I was after, but rather, reading your understanding of the "damage" it'd do.
It's weird to see you appear worried.
